In recent years Ireland has made significant progress in building its scientific research capacity. Now the Irish Government has set down a bold vision that "Ireland by 2013 will be internationally renowned for the excellence of its research and will be at the forefront in generating and using new knowledge for economic and social progress all within an innovation-driven culture".
The SMART IRELAND web portal provides a wide range of information
on Ireland's science and technology policy and industry, including
details on collaborative projects already underway between Irish
and Japanese partners as well as information on how you can become
involved in collaboration. The portal also provides details on the
first Ireland-Japan Forum on Ubiquitous Innovation, which was held
in May 2009 in Tokyo. Additionally, you can also find information
on the Irish Ministries and Agencies that can assist you
further.
